Prof. Ines MANCINI is currently Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Trento (Italy). She has a 40-year expertise in the field of structural and synthetic bioorganic chemistry. Her research focuses on natural products chemistry involving isolation, structural elucidation, and total synthesis also by unconventional eco-friendly methods and studies of target interactions by docking calculation. Additionally, her research involves the study of secondary metabolites from bioactive extracts of marine organisms and more recently from plants and Actinobacteria cultures. Additional topics are related to studies on the interaction of DNA with ionic liquids, supra-molecular systems of bioactive molecules included inside cyclodextrins, application of mass spectrometry to the analysis and reactivity investigation of polyphenols, structural characterization of products from catalytic pyrolysis of biomass and cellulose and their application as chiral building blocks in the synthesis of bioactive molecules. She has published 162 papers in reputed journals as well as 2 book chapters and holds 5 patents. She is member of the International Doctoral School in Biomolecular Sciences, CIBio, UniTN, the Società Chimica Italiana and European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences (EuCheMS).
