Dr. Muhammad IRFAN received his master degree in Zoology from University of the Punjab, Lahore (Pakistan) in 2007 and was awarded cultural exchange scholarship for Doctoral Degree Programme from Liaoning provincial Government of China. 
received his doctoral degree in “Crop Biotechnology” from College of Agronomy, Shenyang Agricultural University, China in 2014, and then he joined the Department of Zoology, University of the Punjab, where he served as Assistant Professor from September 27, 2014 to Jun 26, 2016. On June 27, 2016, he moved to Department of Biotechnology, University of Sargodha, Sargodha, Pakistan. Currently, Dr. IRFAN is working as Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Biotechnology. He authored and co-authored 216 published scientific research articles with cumulative Impact Factor >300, and 15 book chapters (published by Springer and Elsevier). His work has been cited over 3000 times in various world renowned journals with i10 index 81 and h-index 27. He is the recipient of 6 funded research grants. He has successfully supervised and trained 3 PhD and 40 MS/M.Phil students. Dr. IRFAN is serving as Editor/EBM of various scientific journals including BMC Biotechnology, Fermentation, Current Biotechnology, Punjab University Journal of Zoology, Journal of Applied Biology and Biotechnology
