Prof. Bassem JAOUADI is a full professor in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the Centre of Biotechnology of Sfax (CBS), university of Sfax (USF), Tunisia. He received the Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, the Master’s degree in Molecular and Cell Biology, and the PhD degree in Biological Sciences from the Faculty of Sciences of Sfax (FSS), USF (Tunisia). In 2010, he integrated the CBS as Assistant Professor where he continued his research in the field of the novel microbial enzymes for industrial applications. In 2014, he gets the University Habilitation (HU) in Bioengineering at the National Engineering School of Sfax, USF. He is member of the Horizon Europe CSA-Twinning project “NGS-4- ECOPROD” and the ENI Cross-Border Cooperation Program Italy- Tunisia “ARIBiotech” C-5-2.1-41 and was also leader of several national and international projects mainly National Program for Technological Innovation (PNRI) and bilateral and multilateral projects with France, Algeria, and Morocco (CNRS-DGRS, R&F, RDP, LABEX-TA, and PHCMaghreb). In addition, he is the CEO and founder of the biotech start-up in the Business Incubator of the CBS called "Biotech ECOZYM" and the spin-off “ENZYin” and an expert and consultant in white biotechnology. He has more than 100 publications in periodic journals, 45 national patents and 70 invited book chapters. According to the ISI Web of Knowledge database, he has more than 2808 citations in scientific publications and his h-index is 34.
