The present paper sheds the light on the effect of Fear of Negative Evaluation (FNE) on students' oral performance. To test our hypothesis and to find answers to the research questions; we have adopted a mixed-methodology approach based on both quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative method consisted of the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS) and a questionnaire; both were administered to first year students at the department of English, university of Bejaia. While the qualitative method was based on semi-structured interviews with oral expression teachers at the same department.en_US
