The war in Ukraine, has had significant consequences on various aspects of the European Union and its neighboring regions. Stemming from complex political, historical, and ethnic factors, the conflict originated in the aftermath of Ukraine's decision to pursue closer ties with the European Union (EU) and NATO, which was met with resistance from Russia. As a result, tensions escalated into armed conflict, with Russia annexing Crimea and supporting separatist movements in eastern Ukraine. The conflict has been marked by territorial disputes, human rights violations, and the displacement of millions of people. However, this paper specifically focuses on the impacts of the war on the energy sector of the European Union, highlighting the interconnectedness between Ukraine and the EU in terms of energy infrastructure, supply routes, and geopolitical implications.en_US
