Abstract

Abstract : "The metaphor with which we think and by which we live" is the title of an article which studies metaphor from a cognitive perspective whose blocks have been formed within empirical philosophy, from the book "Metaphors We Live By” by George Lakoff and Mark Johnson, a perspective based on the refutation of previous perceptions that consider metaphors the preserve of literary and poetic texts, and deny their existence in ordinary speech, viewing it as a verbal refinement and style refined of words, and it has nothing to do with perceptions, and in this regard it is based on similarity, and does not go beyond being a linguistic phenomenon based on deviation from normal structure.
