Efforts of Sheikh Hussein Al-Marsafi in reviving Arab criticism and literature

Abstract

This article emphasizes, the efforts of Sheïkh Hassun Marsifi in reviving literary criticism especially in his book entitled "The literary method", whuch included a narration of the rules of the well known sciences from grammar, conjugation and rhetoric...etc, and the unfamiliar ones from the arts of writing composition and many others. Marsifi raised many matters in literature and criticism. And that's through stopping at his talk about the three sciences of Arabic rhetoric )statement , semantics, creative) and what it went through from branching and divisions, and it's role in critical and literary productions. and on some critical concepts that he gleaned from the books of old critics, such as the concepts of literature, criticism and poetry, and referencing the most important foundations in criticism to him
