Abstract

This study deals with the social dimension in the Algerian theatrical discourse from the perspective of sociolinguistics in conversational analysis field, since theater is seen as an art form that embodies living reality in society, and the play constitutes a communicative dimension between the actor and the viewer through social interaction based on linguistic and non-linguistic expression, so, we will focus on analyzing the conversations between the actors in the event of khatini’s play inspired by the popular movement, so, can the linguistic code conversation be composed of different linguistic types? Is the social behavior nature of the actors on stage a reflection of the acts related to their own used linguistic field? what are the adopted mechanisms used in conversational analysis in studying the dialogue between the characters of the play from sociolinguistics perspective.
