The Orientalist Dimension in the Book "The Quranic Stories - A Contemporary Reading" by Muhammad Shahrour - Presentation and Critique
Keywords:
The Noble Quran, The Quranic interpreters, The Quranic stories, The Orientalist dimensionAbstract
The Quranic interpreters have taken the contemporary reading of the Quranic text as an alternative to the legal texts, and they even tried to interpret the Noble Quran according to their desires, distorting the words from their places, raving about what they did not know, and thus the corrupt thought and the unsuccessful opinion prevailed over them. Among those pompous thinkers is the modernist thinker "Muhammad Shahrour", who followed the path of the Orientalists who tried their best to spread their venoms coated with doubts in order to catch those with weak hearts, relying on their intellectual propositions and their doctrinal references, hiding behind the title of "the Quranic" while the Quran is innocent of him, as he used the historical approach adopted by the Orientalists in their studies on Islam, aiming behind that to promote his interpretations that have no reference, and his interpretations that have no origin, thus creating in the religion what God Almighty did not authorize. Based on the foregoing, we try to clarify the Orientalist dimension that pierces the Quranic stories through our reading of the book "The Quranic Stories - A Contemporary Reading" by Muhammad Shahrour, and to expose his absurdities and reveal his doubts, and to refute his claims and the doctrinal, intellectual and cognitive fallacies he has fallen into.
