In this intervention, we will attempt to clarify the starting points and foundations that governed the Arab-Islamic critical discourse dealing with the Orientalist achievement, by addressing the vision of both Malek Bennabi(1905-1973) and Muhammad Abed Al-Jabri(1935-2010). This is in view of the importance of the thinkers and their great role at the level of contemporary Arab Islamic thought. It is worth noting in this regard that our approach to this critical discourse according to them will be in the manner that what concerns us is the critical methodological and cognitive formation that stems from its affiliation to the deliberative Arab-Islamic cultural field, and seeks to respond to the propositions of the Orientalist text. We start from the following central research question: What are the foundations and starting points of the critical vision of Orientalism according to Malek Bennabi and Muhammad Abed Al-Jabri? Keywords: Critical questioning; Orientalism; Malik Bennabi; Muhammad Abed Al-Jabri.
