Methods and mechanisms of Orientalist criticism
Keywords:
Orientalism, mechanisms, conspiracy, evaluation, objectivity, subjectivityAbstract
Undoubtedly, one of the objectives of this study is to acknowledge the difficulty
of addressing the complex and intricate issue of Orientalism, which requires the researcher
to have a broad cultural background, an understanding of the civilizational context, a
historical perspective, and the ability to read the "Other" without bias, prejudice, or
preconceived notions. This work aims to explore how and by what mechanisms
Orientalism has been criticized, concluding that Orientalism is neither entirely evil nor
entirely good, but rather exists between scientific inquiry and human tendencies. Through
a systematic and scientific evaluation of Orientalism, we can achieve a deeper and more
accurate understanding of Eastern civilizations and appreciate them correctly
