dc.description.abstract The present study illustrates the importance of music in social activism as a way of establishing and expressing collective identity through the comparative context of the historical movements against racial inequality in the anti-Apartheid movement in South Africa. We then shed light to the analysis of protest songs in reference to the concepts of boycotts, oppressions, historical movements, symbols, in addition to the hidden messages and the secret meanings they secretly convey. en_US
