Abstract:
This research paper examines Margaret Atwood’s Cat’s Eye through the lens of feminist theory. It traces the issue of identity quest and explores movingly the painful psychic effects of adolescent cruelty and bullying, switching between the narrative and the protagonist’s childhood. This research not only focuses on the evolution of the fragmented identity of the female protagonist ,taking into account the different influences that shaped the formation of her selfhood, but also dramatizes the limitations and unreliability of human memory and the effects of time upon the human subject.
