Guidelines for Authors

 

 

  1. 1.    Paper Submission

As part of the submission process of Journal of Studies in Language, Culture and Society (JSLCS) authors are kindly asked to read the following sections: "Instructions for authors" and "Guide to authors" of our website on the Algerian scientific journals’ platform:

Authors are then requested to check their submissions’ compliance with all of the following items and if not adhering to these guidelines, submissions may be returned back to authors.

Online submission of manuscripts is strongly recommended. Papers must be submitted via the ASJP platform in a Word format (version 2010 to 2016). Authors can do so by clicking on the Submit an Article icon on the left of the screen in the ASJP platform link:

  1. 2.    Manuscript Guidelines
  • The submission has not been previously published, or submitted to another journal for consideration.
  • Each paper should be double-spaced in 12-point font (Times New Roman) with 1 inch margins on all sides.
  • Submitted articles should be written in English and of about 4000 to 8000 words.
  • Manuscripts are expected to include an explicit, systematic, and rigorous methodology to sustain empirically-based claims that contribute to moving forward the knowledge of academic writing. 
  • A manuscript content should, in general, be organized in the following order: Title; Authors Name; Authors Affiliation; Abstract; Keywords; Introduction; Methods; Results and Discussion; Conclusions; Acknowledgments; and References.
  • All submissions must conform to the requirements of the APA 7thedition (American Psychological Association).
    Accuracy of references and citations are under the authors’ responsibility. Accordingly, manuscripts may be rejected if they do not meet the APA requirements.
    References’ number should bxe relatively consistent.
    Authors can download the template from the “Instructions for author” section, where they can access this by visiting: https://www.asjp.cerist.dz/en/PresentationRevue/681 , and then click “Instructions for author “on the left side of the screen.
  1. 3.    Review Procedure
  • After the submission deadline of each call for papers, manuscripts submitted to JSLCS Journal will go through an internal review.  If submitted papers meet the basic requirements of JSLCS, they are sent out for double blind review from experts in the field. 
  • Reviewers are expected to review articles and return their reviews within a limited period of time (4 to 6 weeks). If reviewers recommend modification that can be minor or major, the author is given the opportunity to adequately respond to their feedback revise and send back his manuscript via ASJP platform.
  • This entire review process will take anywhere between 2- 3 months after submission of manuscript.
  • The publication of the manuscript is decided after the Editor in Chief’ s decision is made.

 

  1. 4.    Follow-Up of the Position of the Article on the Platform:

The author can enter his account in the platform and follow the status of his article stage by stage by clicking on the icon: "Articles" and then clicking on the icon: "Sent Articles" will show a table that details the article from: Address; Date of Article submission; Journal Name; Details

 

  1. 5.    Publication Acceptance Agreements/Copyright
  • Before publishing, authors of manuscripts are asked to confirm in a publication acceptance agreement that the paper has not been and will not be published elsewhere.
  •   This signed statement must be received by JSLCS journal when the manuscript is accepted for publication in JSLCS. Authors of manuscripts will assign Transfer of copyright Agreement to JSLCS. This is done through a notification via the journal’s email:

  • Under this license, authors retain ownership of the copyright for their publications, but grant JSLCS a non-exclusive license to publish the work in paper form and allow anyone to reuse the content as long as the original work is properly cited.
  • Articles can be read, downloaded, copied, distributed, printed, and searched without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.
  • No permission is required from the authors or the publishers for any reuse or distribution of a work, users must also make clear the license terms under which the work was published.

 

  1. 6.     Plagiarism Policy

Scientific theft, in all its forms, constitutes immoral behaviour for the Journal. The authors should ensure that they have written completely original works, and when using the works and /or the words of others, they have to properly reference or quote the source (acknowledge the source). Plagiarism, in all its forms, constitutes an unethical behaviour in publishing and is unacceptable. In case of a detected plagiarism case, NO other article will be accepted for the author who has been impersonated by our review.

 

  1. 7.    Author Fees

Journal of Studies in Language, Culture and Society (JSLCS) is completely free of charge. We apply NO CHARGE for the submission.
