About the Journal

The Mediterranean History Journal is a biannual journal of the faculty of human and social sciences of the University of Bejaia. It is indexed in the European ERIH Plus database and the Arabic ARCIF database. It is a quintilingual journal, therefore open to contributions in English, French, Arabic, Amazigh and Spanish  language.

Its objectives: The Mediterranean History Journal aims to disseminate historical knowledge to teachers, researchers, students and a wide audience. It provides a platform for the critical evaluation of research in history. Published articles often undergo a peer review process.

It also aims to promote historical research by offering researchers an opportunity to share their discoveries and to facilitate dialogue between historians and researchers, thus promoting the sharing of ideas, debates and methodological approaches.

The Journal provides a platform for the documentation of historical events, biographies, and other relevant topics.

Its scope: The Mediterranean History Journal has a bias towards studies relating to the history of Mediterranean countries from prehistory to the contemporary era and is also open to historical contributions dealing with the past of all states of the world in their different aspects: society in all its dimensions, agriculture, industry, commerce, politics, culture, customs and traditions, etc.

The Journal adopts an interdisciplinary approach, linking history to other fields such as sociology, anthropology, archaeology, etc.

The Mediterranean History Journal is fully downloaded without restrictions in format PDF on the site of Béjaia University.

The Mediterranean History Journal appears in the national file of scientific journals published by the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MESRS), and on its Algerian scientific journal platform (ASJP), administered by CERIST. The scientific and reading committee of the journal is international. It is made up of experts from the University of Bejaia, other Algerian and foreign universities. The Mediterranean History Journal only publishes unpublished material. The editorial staff of the journal reserves the prerogative to ask the authors for corrections and/or modifications.
