Civilizational communication In Bejaia: from the Gueldaman cave to the city of Nasiriyah

Abstract

Bejaia is considered one of the oldest cities in North Africa. Studies and researches have shown that this area was one of the most important centers in ancient history. It included many caves and ancient sites and the oldest archeological sites of prehistoric human settlement. It was attractive to the population because it met the conditions of life such as water, soil fertility and these curing of its natural areas. Therefore, several civilizations have succeeded in Bejaia, the most important are the Numidian, Phoenician, Roman, Vandals, Byzantine and Islamic civilizations.                                                                 

   On this basis, we will try in this simple article to shed light on these civilizations that followed the city and the cultural role it played in its prosperity.
