Abstract

OuledMuqran’s family was one of the local families most powerful in the Algerian East Baylek during the Ottoman period,which had a cooperative relationship with the Baylek, who relied on them to impose their authority on the tribes and the population. Although the family suffered from weakness and discrimination, it participated with the regency's army to face the French military campaign in 1830, so how was its attitude against the new situation that followed the French invasion, meanwhile a resistance led by el Emir Abd-el-Kader appeared in the West, when another led by Ahmed Bey was in the East?
