Xr Bury - Reflections And Creations Inspired By Pol Bury's Work And Vision

Based on the still very much alive legacy of Pol Bury (1992-2005), a Belgian visual artist and author known mainly for his kinetic fountain sculptures and his exploration of slow movement in various forms, Transcultures, Centre of digital and sound cultures proposed, in his hometown of La Louvière (Belgium) which was honoring the 100th anniversary of his birth, in April and May 2023, several events related to digital arts (XR Bury in 2 parts: a symposium “Art in the age of artificial intelligence” designed in partnership with the CiTu-Paragraphe laboratory of the University of Paris 8, and an augmented reality tour in the city P P P [ Pol Pipoling Project] produced, for the occasion, by La Société i Matériel and sound (with the project - album and launch event - Sonic Spheres which brings together ten sound artists based in Belgium who have composed an original piece based on the work and spirit of Pol Bury). These events, presentations, debates and Art/Science creations have been fruitful links between the cosmogony of this (trans)historical artist whose richness and diversity of legacy, both material and spiritual, should be highlighted, and the intermedia creations that she freely inspires even today.
