Policy on use of Generative AI and assisted Technologies

  1. Policy Objective
    The journal Économie et Gestion establishes this policy to regulate the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools in scientific writing, in accordance with the principles of academic integrity, transparency, and scientific responsibility.
  2. Permitted Uses
    Authors may use generative AI tools only for the following purposes:
  • improving linguistic quality (grammar, spelling, style);
  • rephrasing sentences for greater clarity;
  • assisting with the structuring of the manuscript.

Use must remain limited and properly controlled, and must not under any circumstances replace the author’s intellectual contribution.

  1. Prohibited Uses
    It is strictly prohibited to:
  • use AI to generate data, empirical results, or analyses without rigorous scientific validation;
  • submit a manuscript largely produced by AI;
  • use AI to circumvent plagiarism rules;
  • list AI as an author or co-author.
  1. Transparency Requirement
    Any use of generative AI tools must be explicitly disclosed in the manuscript. Authors must declare the use of AI at the time of submission. If AI has been used for writing or analysis, a specific statement must be included at the end of the article (before the references), detailing the tool used and the extent of its contribution.
  2. Authors’ Responsibility
    Authors are fully responsible for the submitted content, including any parts assisted by AI. They must ensure:
  • the accuracy of the information;
  • the originality of the content;
  • compliance with ethical and scientific standards.

The journal Économie et Gestion cannot be held responsible for the content published.

  1. Role of Reviewers and Editors
    Reviewers and members of the editorial board must:
  • report any content suspected of being improperly generated by AI;
  • maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts (i.e., not submit them to external AI tools).
  1. Detection and Control
    The journal reserves the right to use tools for detecting AI-generated content and to request clarification from authors in case of doubt.

In cases of non-compliance:

  • rejection of the manuscript;
  • suspension of submission privileges;
  • notification to the relevant institutions.
  1. Compliance with International Standards
    This policy is aligned with the recommendations of international organizations in publication ethics:
  • Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)
  • Elsevier
  • Springer Nature

9. Policy Updates
The journal reserves the right to revise this policy in accordance with technological developments and evolving international recommendations.
