Abstract

This study aims to identify the challenges of sustainable urban transport in Algerian cities. These issues call for a transversal and integrated review of the environmental, social and economic dimensions of public interventions in the sector and underline the need to get out of the sectoral logic that governs the sector. A perspective in terms of sustainable urban mobility makes it possible to place the problem of transport in that of urban planning. Although this perspective requires the opening of major projects, some initiatives undertaken in favor of sustainable urban mobility, despite their embryonic state, are put forward at the end of the article
