Abstract

This article is an analysis of the evolution of land passenger transport in Algeria, namely: road transport and rail transport, and then examines the probable evolution trends and the development prospects of these two modes of transport. Transport with a view to modernizing passenger transport services in Algeria. During our research we found that road transport predominates in passenger flows for more than 90%, but this mode of transport faces several organizational and infrastructural constraints. The decline of the SNTF is due, to a certain extent, to the security situation in the country (1990-2000), and to the management of the company, which is a brake on its development.
