Abstract

The aim of this article is to characterize CSR practices and assess the companies' commitment levels, in the agri-food industry in Algeria. The objective is to provide empirical insights into CSR practices at work in developing countries and the scarcity of informations on CSR in these countries. This study is mainly dedicated to studying the Algerian companies in the agri-food sector, shows from a field survey, factorial analysis methods and typology applied to the data collected that agribusiness companies are active in terms of CSR commitment, on most dimensions of ISO 26000. However, the CSR practice level are varied : large local companies and subsidiares of forein companies have a higher level of commitment than SMEs. Local businesses have similar levels of engagement with foreign affiliates.
