dc.description.abstract The current research deals with investigating the way students learn through note-taking as a strategy by taking into account the learners’ psychological characteristics and their role in the learning process. First-year students of the Department of English at the University of Abderrahman Mira have been taken as a case for this study. It aims to explore the role of working memory, bottom-up processing, and multitasking attention, motivation, learning style, and gender when learning through note-taking. This study relies on Witkin’s learning styles theory to measure field-dependent & independent learning style, Self-Determination Theory of Motivation, the Wechsler Memory Scale, and Mirsky’s four-factor Model of Attention measurement. This study is based on mixed methods research. en_US
