dc.description.abstract This dissertation explores the issue of whiteness in Mohsin Hamid’s novel The Last White Man (2022). The novel explores the dilemma of whiteness as it is portrayed by the author within the American community. The analysis, therefore, borrows the concepts of Otherness, Cultural Difference, Ambivalence, and Mimicry as explained by the theorist Homi. K Bhabha to analyze the characters’ self-responses on the one hand and the reaction of the surrounding others’ views to the loss of whiteness on the other hand. en_US
