My dissertation discusses the status of Afghani women under the Taliban regime and their different challenges towards women emancipation in a novel from Afghanistan written by Khlaled Hosseini entitled A Thousand Splendid Suns. The aim of my research is to depict the protagonists’ Status under the Taliban rule and their struggle against social and political norms to put an end to their discrimination. Both of them are women of two generations apart, one is born an illegitimate child in poverty, the other is born to educated parents at a progressive time in Kabul’s history, but they are bond together in an unexpected way fighting the same oppressor by using their kindness, cleverness and deep friendship |
