Abstract

Multiple are the reasons that push people to emigrate and settle in a host country. Among the reasons of emigration, wars and political conflicts constitute imperatives that drive populations to emigrate in search of a more secure place. Under the pen of Middle-Eastern writers such as the Palestinian, Susan Abulhawa, and the Afghan, Chabname Zariab, literature highlights the negative repercussions of emigration to the West, which we will examine through psychological, social and cultural approaches. “Les matins de Jénine” and “Le pianiste afghan” are two novels that invite us to think about challenges faced by migrants during their integration in the host country.
