Yûsuf Sâhib al-Tâbic palace : Emergence of new modes life in the Medina and its suburbs
Abstract
At the end of the 18th century, the pre-eminence of converts to islam encouraged openness to foreign cultures. Yusuf Sâhib al-Tâbî is a remarkable example, marked the traditional city by its architectural complex reflecting several artistic currents of construction and decoration. The palace of this complex was architecturally and decoratively innovative at that time, in the ancient city of Tunis.
